It’s a luxury car! It’s a sports car! It’s a Skyline! It’s barely a Skyline. It’s cheap to buy used, but it packs so much value! It’s a crying shame that most of these were sold as automatics to middle age finance workers who just wanted a little edge to their leather.

This internet is packed with lots of opinions, and the Infiniti G35 is not spared, many of these opinions stated above. That’s what the other parts of the internet say, but what do the real car guys have to say about the old Infiniti flagship?

I prefer the G37x.

It’s a Skyline. It isn’t a GT-R.

It’s a great car. Till the stance bros get ahold of it. Great value for the money. I was cross shopping this with my genesis.

The exhaust sounds awesome, and the luxury and prestige of Infiniti and the iconic Skyline reputation. The worst part is the red turn signals :(

Also, too bad no 4-cylinder G20 anymore

I drive one currently and its my only car. This is the 2nd one that I’ve owned and is turning out to be the best one yet.

It is indeed called a Skyline in other markets. (Front Midship V35)

If you has questions, I might could answer.

Exhaust is definitely polarizing. I can’t stand it.

Certainly a lot of car for the money, but boy are they bland IMO. They’re a 6-7 across the board, but they’re not a 9-10 in any single category and to me that makes them very forgettable.

Had one (2003.5 Sedan 6MT) from new. It was decent. I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy one now though. Even though mine was meticulously maintained, I didn’t feel that it aged particularly well. Not like a W124 or W210 Benz anyway.

They were great value for money in 2003 against BMW (In essence, pay for a 3er, get a 5er size car). However, they have, just like BMW, lost the pure driving focus. I wouldn’t buy a Q50 (or whatever it became) at any price.

My mother-in-law owns a third-generation G35 and I’ve driven it several times. It feels solid, handles and accelerates well, but it just isn’t inspiring. Sure, it goes. But the performance didn’t make me want to run out and buy one of my own.

I was looking at 2006-7 6spd sedans. Many pluses. Not as uncommon as you'd think.

A friend had one, don't know if he still does, 6 speed. Very nice.

I drive an 06 G35x and can’t see myself driving anything else! Though there’s an AMG studio CLA45 at work that I’d totally rock if it wasn’t 60 grand. Anyways, I’m a huge fan of the G35. I think it looks great, has pretty nice interior, standard keyless and bluetooth (in 2006!) as well as plenty of power and a much nicer, more refined exhaust not in the sedans with the 3.5. Only thing I can’t stand is fuel economy. I get about 20 with not a lot of city driving. The dang thing is just always so wound up. It could also really use a 6th gear. I’d love an 08 g35 with the 7 speed, but I’m happy with my car for now.

I really really wanted a G35/G37 sedan, and I was even preparing myself to have an automatic one, since manuals are the rarest thing around. Then I found out the rear seats don’t fold down for some stupid reason, and that was a deal breaker for me as I don’t want to borrow a friend’s car everytime I need to carry something bigger. Then I looked at the EX35, wich is basically a G35 hatchback, but it’s quite more expensive because of crossover marketing crap.

I had one for about 5 years and loved it. Crazy reliable and tons of fun. My only complaints are that the trunk is stupid small on the coupe, and the gas mileage could be better. Most of the parts are Nissan and affordable, but there are a few things that you have to pay the luxury tax on such as $400 key fobs made of plastic that literally fell apart in my pocket.

10/10 would buy again.
